It has been a great run at The Mill. Now that The Mill is no longer a resource for makers in the Twin Cities, here is a list of what is available, and what is in the works.
The HackFactory (TCMaker)
Minneapolis's first member supported Hackerspace/Maker Space. A 501(c)3 organization, they have a woodshop, metalshop, electronics area and host an open house every Wednesday night from 7-9pm. Membership is $55 a month.
Leonardos Basement
An innovative educational organization for children and their families. Leonardo's Basement creates imaginative learning environments where girls and boys ages 6 to 16 design and build their creative ideas, mixing art, science and technology.
Studio Bricolage
A project of Leonardo's Basement, Studio Bricolage is a 21st century, community-driven art, craft and technology playground for creative and adventurous adults who want to tinker, get messy, make mistakes try again, experiment, geek out, chill out, invent and have fun in a casual, informal setting. Studio Bricolage offers classes and exhibitions at various locations and is known for its First Friday Adult Building Parties.
Chicago Avenue Fire Arts Association
Focused on fine and industrial arts that are produced using heat, spark, or flame - collectively known as "fire arts"- including sculptural welding, blacksmithing, glasswork, jewelry making, and others. CAFAC provides classes to anyone with an interest, from youth to adult and beginner to master-level artisans. They also offer studio rental facilities to working and emerging artists and feature a storefront gallery.
Americas Workshop
At 10,000 square feet, America's Woodshop is a workshop located in Burnsville Mn, that is open for hobbyists to professional woodworkers who have a passion for the craft, but not the tools, money, or space to own a high end shop.

A group that met at The Mill, they are looking to start a new space with at least a CNC router and laser. They are looking for partners right now. The mission of the Mn Maker Community is to bridge the gap between knowledge sets, generations, and economic situations through the use of (and training in) personalized production.
